Just a quick post tonight to share this exciting discovery.

After kicking around several options, we finally decided to invest in a small floor sander and start refinishing the upstairs floors. Why not have projects going in every room all at the same time?

We were initially disappointed when we removed the old carpets to discover that the wood floors had at some point been painted with dark brown paint. Not complaining….to each their own and I am sure whoever did so had their reasons and it appealed to them.

It did not however, appeal to us.

We were a bit apprehensive as to what we would find as we started up the sander and hoped for the best. We were not disappointed. Look at that beautiful wood! It looks to be in pretty good shape and should sand, stain and seal up nicely. It is a dusty, messy process but tomorrow is forecast to be a rainy day so it will be a good project for me to plug away at.
