I noticed these buds in the side yard were on the verge of blossoming this morning.

By midday they had started to open and by early evening, were in full bloom.

It is a reminder of how quickly life goes by. How fleeting the moments, how much can change in the span of a few hours.

These flowers woke with the sun and packed a lifetime into a single day.

We should be so lucky.
