Sweet Beige

Sherwin Williams—Sweet Beige

Today we finished painting what will soon be the master bedroom, and I am IN love!

And…..in shock.

I never pictured myself falling head over heels with…..beige, but this beige is sweet in more ways than one.

Once we decided that this particular room would be the master, I knew immediately that the color inspiration should come from the church across the street. The church is visible from the window as soon as you walk into the room and it seemed only natural to play off of it.

The church itself is gray with very subtle purple/pink undertones. (I may have actually tried to color match the building….) I had a couple of paint chips that fit the bill but all changed shades once in the room. Paint, I am learning, is funny that way.

It came down to two contenders, which is amazing if you will remember the twenty something shades of yellow I debated about.

Both shades are by Sherwin Williams: Emerging Taupe and Sweet Beige.

(L) Emerging Taupe; (R) Sweet Beige

I was sure Emerging Taupe would be the winner but it went on darker than I expected. As soon as I saw the Sweet Beige I was smitten and the decision was made.

This color did not disappoint.

In the can it looked pinkish tan but on the walls, with the lighting that we have, it turned a soft silvery lavender with hints of gray and pink. It is absolutely, without a doubt, exactly what I had pictured in my head.

Now if only the rest of the vision can come together so easily…..
