While we have been busy, sanding this and staining that, looking here instead of there, taming man made wildness to fit our man made ideals, distracted inside and not looking out, nature has been doing what she does best; growing despite the lull we wish she would fall into, the breather we wish she would allow us, the pause we wish she would take.
Nature taunts us as we recline on the front porch, toasting to all we have accomplished this past week.
She shows us how tall she has grown while remaining unchecked, the bounds she has made in our distracted absence, reminds us that she requires constant supervision, easily eclipses the railing, reaches for the sun and threatens to swallow us and our well manicured interior whole if we do not pay attention to her.
