Write It In Ink

I have struggled for most of the day.

Stymied by a simple decision.

We are anchoring the bookcases to the wall and I have to commit to the final layout.

There are two viable options for the shorter wall and I just can not seem to decide. I had one option in mind when we ordered the units but I now see that there is another variation I had not considered and it has me stuck and struggling.

I go back and forth. Weigh the pros and the cons. Reach out to family and trusted friends.

I receive mixed responses.

Agree and disagree with each one.

I know both layouts will work and both have their strengths and weaknesses. I know ultimately it really doesn’t matter; I like them both so either one will be ok.

The indecision has me though.

Has me doubting this and questioning that.

Has me looking to others for answers when I will really only be satisfied when I come to my own conclusion. And even then doubt will linger and remain.

It is a silly thing to debate about and it has me thinking…..

Thinking about the girls I saw this morning.

Young and laughing even at an early hour. Even though the day lay long ahead of them.

They are painting a mural and they are plotting it in ink.

They can see the big picture.

They trust the dimensions and proportions.

They believe in the vision they have.

They do not spend the day debating “One” or “Two.” They plow forward with a confidence I wish I had.

They trust their instincts, do not look back, do not question, do not ask advice.

They are not timid or tentative.

They do not ask for permission or for second opinions.

They follow their hearts and in that pursuit they are brave and bold and fearless.

They meet inspiration head on. Capture it and commit to it; pin it down in permanence and in ink.

    1. Thanks Donna! I have been polling family and friends and have made a decision. (Steve anchored them to the wall and gave me “the look” meaning I can not change my mind.) The “reveal” will be coming later this week.
