Dance With Me

I retraced my steps today.

Over the bridge and across the causeway to the kingdom only days ago ruled by the King Tide.

The tide has receded and relinquished its claim to solid ground. Has given back, for now, what it so hastily overtook.

It is a dance Nature is all too familiar with.

Water charges forward and courts Land in a Tango.
Land pushes back and counters with a Samba.
A truce is met in the form of a Cha-Cha.

Ebb, Flow; Cha Cha Cha; High, Low, Cha Cha Cha; Give, Take, Cha Cha Cha….repeat, repeat, repeat.

A truce has been reached; the pattern and tempo holds steady, they dance to music they feel more than hear; a rhythm as old as time.

For now they frame and support each other but a full moon is on the horizon; the pace is quickening and the tide aches with the beat and swell of an upcoming Rhumba.
