Quick Pic

I found this picture while going through my shots of the day and looking for one to share here tonight.

Shoehorned in between carefully framed shots of herons and the sea, was this one.

Taken accidentally and unaware, while waiting for more perfect and photogenic elements to line up.

Taken while swinging my arm restlessly, or rushing off to another, “better,” location, I hit the shutter and captured this random, trivial, should be deleted, mistake of a shot.

This “mistake,” I realize is life.

The mad rush from where we are to where we think we should be.

The hurried, frenzied, absent mindedness of the day to day.

The lens pointed down, waiting for something “worthy” to happen or come along.

Not yet realizing that the lens should always be pointed up.

That life is rushing by at speeds we can not fathom.

Not knowing that when people pass, from this world to the next, and “life passes before your eyes,” and everything slows down and speeds up all at the same time, blades of grass become fragmented until they resemble the acceleration and velocity of stars and we are cradled for eternity in a meadow of mundane moments.
