It is a billboard that sits at an intersection.
An intersection where the most diverse demographic of drivers are held equally hostage by a light that pauses red on all sides for just a moment longer than is necessary.
A moment in which those headed to “The Island” and those headed to “Nine to Five” meet and converge; sit and wait.
A moment in which those on all sides will the light to turn green for them first; forcing those on opposing sides to surrender and yield to their rights and right (of) way.
It is in this pause between calm and calamity; between introspection and impatience; that we all notice the sign.
Devoid and wiped clean of “Help Wanted” ads and “Political Party Propaganda,” for the first time in months, the billboard is rendered a clean slate.
A do over.
A second chance.
An opportunity for us to celebrate the birth of this unknown child.
A chance to live up to the expectations promised him on a billboard that sits at an intersection.
Because the world IS beautiful.
It is breath taking and takes breath away, depending on which side of the intersection you happen to find yourself.
It is in this moment however, this pause between kindness and chaos that we find ourselves stalled and waiting.
And then, the light turns green…..
