Thanks to trouble with technology this post is very late…… The holidays tend to be a weird mix of emotions for me. Christmas proved no different. So we packed up the dogs and headed to my happy place, the beach. We watched gulls squabble with terns. Found ourselves underdressed uninvited guests at a fancy vulture brunch. Hitching a Ride

A small sprig of spring, sprung too early or hanging on too long, decided to hitch a ride. Found itself rooted once more. Attached to the rear windshield of a car with out of state plates. A car headed south. A car headed, the sprig hoped, to a place where the days are longer than the nights. A tropical place full of orange groves and sunshine. The sprig told itself it could out run winter. Prepared itself for the journey ahead, held on tight as the temperature dropped, the wind picked up and rain began to fall.
