New Addition

Please welcome our new addition. I found her in a dusty corner in one of the local antique shops months ago and thought our old Victorian house needed a proper Victorian lady to watch over things. Lucky Star

Recently I entered a micro fiction writing contest. One day to write a 100 word story using an assigned genre, action and word. I placed second in my group and was moved ahead to the next level. Inspired my “success” I remembered how much I enjoy these sort of situations; these “assignments” that push me out of my comfort zone and force me to write without thinking; to see what shakes loose. Chaos Theory

Dust from a faraway desert chokes the marshland, suffocates the light; much like another desert I know all too well. The sun trades places with the moon as my husband makes an off hand remark, the ripples of which send me overreacting, back to my childhood. Sweet Beige

Today we finished painting what will soon be the master bedroom, and I am IN love! And…..in shock. I never pictured myself falling head over heels with…..beige, but this beige is sweet in more ways than one. Once we decided that this particular room would be the master, I knew immediately that the color inspiration should come from the church across the street. The church is visible from the window as soon as you walk into the room and it seemed only natural to play off of it. The church itself is gray with very subtle purple/pink undertones.
