Today I am thankful for the ability music has to transport is back in time.

The thread of connectivity that, when the song came on my radio earlier today, took me back three years or so to the place I first heard it.

It was a trendy, independent bookstore in Athens Georgia that smelled of Chai tea and paper.

The song came on and I was immediately smitten. I started to sway and twirl and may have even played air guitar.

The cashier looked concerned and confused.

My husband appeared mortified and distanced himself an aisle or two away from me.

The old man in nonfiction nodded his head in my direction, winked at me and smiled…..

  1. I had no idea Phoebe Bridger also had a band! Cool tune. And I am guilty of singing off-key and seat dancing in the truck – only no one else to embarrass LOL 😂
